Furniture Specialist:
This position is required to fulfill the role of Furniture Specialist with the Interior Design Services of Workplace Solutions within the NCA. The Furniture Specialist is mainly responsible for coordinating between the various stakeholders (private and public) in order to procure furniture for the Government of Canada projects. They are also responsible for collecting information required for the preparation of furniture procurement packages and are the key contact for all procurement needs and inquiries. The Furniture specialist provides assistance to the PSPC Workplace Solutions Design Managers and the rest of the PSPC project team for the furniture procurement phase of projects.

We are focused on going beyond Workplace 2.0 and introducing the Activity Based Workplace which promotes flexibility, agility and well-being in an effort to strive towards the Blueprint 2020 vision for the Government of Canada. We provide professional interior design and furniture services, including concept development, design advisory and quality assurance to all government departments.

Education
Graduation with a university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Interior Design or Graduation with diploma in Interior Design or Architectural technology from a recognized college, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Definition of "an acceptable combination of education and experience»: A candidate who does not meet the minimum of education required must have at least 5 years of experience in providing professional interior design services and education related to interior design.
Experiences:
1. Significant and recent experience* in working with a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of office accommodation projects.
2. Experience in front-end project planning, including activities and projects stages such as needs analysis and functional programming.
3. Significant and recent experience* in providing professional furniture procurement services for office fit up and/or accommodation projects.
4. Experience in providing strategic advice and project delivery strategy recommendations related to Furniture.
*Significant experience is defined as performing the identified duties over a period of approximately 5 years. Recent experience is defined as having approximately five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years.

-Willingness and ability to work in and around construction sites, including wearing protective equipment.
