In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Acceptable experience working in a field relative to the position such as general labour, fencing, grounds keeping, landscaping, carpentry and/or forestry work.

Acceptable experience in the operation of snow blowers, lawn mowers, riding tractors and power tools.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Possession of a current St John’s Ambulance Emergency First Aid Certification, including CPR level 3.

Experience with user maintenance of small engines, snow blowers, lawn mowers, riding tractors, all-terrain vehicles, posthole drills, chain saws, power tools and hand tools.

Experience in the operation of chain saws, forklifts and/or farm tractors and associated equipment.

Experience in the safe handling and use of hand and power tools and other industrial workplace safety procedures.

Experience fighting ground cover fires.

Knowledge of WHMIS.

Knowledge of HAZMAT safe handling procedures, spill avoidance and containment measures, such as herbicides.

Candidates must be able and willing to carryout the following:

Must permanently reside or be willing to relocate within 100 kilometres of 3rd Canadian Division Support Base Detachment Wainwright, Alberta.

Possession of a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (NOTE: a graduated driver’s license is not acceptable);
May be required to work overtime;
Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly for extended periods of time; this could include but is not limited to boxes of 50 lb fasteners, and large and awkward targets.
Operate four-wheel drive vehicles, off highway vehicles and walk over rough terrain in various weather conditions.
Perform in adverse weather conditions during all seasons. i.e. extreme temperatures;
Operate small farm tractors, forklifts, snow blowers, lawn mowers, and associated implements.
Operate heavy power tools for extended periods; i.e. chain saws
Climb ladders and perform repairs on flagpoles and target frames.
Work in smoky conditions and low visibility;
Work in the environment of fighting and control of ground cover fires;
Possession a CSA approved safety footwear.
Possession of a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (NOTE: a graduated driver’s license is not acceptable).
Obtain/retain a valid DND 404 driver’s permit;
