Duties

The Sector Development and Analysis Directorate collects and disseminates horticulture, crops and animal sector data providing accurate, unbiased, reliable and timely market information. Its Market Information Officers compile, analyze and report sector data in support of stakeholder needs.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and tenures (indeterminate, specified term, acting, deployment, secondment).

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.

("Social science" includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science. "Library/archival work" includes gallery and museum functions.)

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in compiling, analyzing, and organizing statistical information for reports/studies.

Experience in database functionality, in searching, and in exporting and importing data from other databases.

Experience in using various applications such as: Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Agriculture.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION:

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Please note that achieving the pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a score that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process. Management may also decide to use top-down selection at any stage of the process.
