The position is responsible for the provision of project management advice, products and services in the planning and implementation of real property projects including leasing, acquisition and disposal. Provision of technical and data control to ensure that Correctional Service Canada (CSC) facilities in the region meet the necessary technical standards for accuracy and completeness.
The Technical Services of Correctional Service Canada, Atlantic Region, is a stimulating and dynamic environment whose mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout the Maritimes. The facilities we manage are diverse such as buildings and structures, building mechanics systems, electrical distribution networks, infrastructures, generators, oil tanks, thermal power stations, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and automobile fleets to name a few.
This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be created following this process, and may be used to staff similar equivalent or lower level positions for indeterminate appointments, term appointments, acting appointments, casual, deployments, assignments and secondments

Education
Graduation with a college diploma in engineering technology, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience in construction or project management.
Experience
Experience managing a budget
Recent experience planning, managing and leading real property and/or minor construction projects and providing advice to management.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)

Knowledge
Knowledge of regulations which impact on real property management and construction.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience analyzing and interpreting building construction drawings, specifications, and other related technical documents.
Experience planning and managing building construction projects and/or contracts.
Experience writing technical scopes of work related to construction.
Experience using computer aided drafting and design software (example: AutoCAD).
Experience developing requests for project proposals.
Experience working in a correctional facility.
