Fueled by a dedicated workforce, Transport Canada’s Aircraft Services Directorate (ASD) is seeking persons who are looking to work within a federal organization in the National Capital Region. The Aircraft Services Directorate is responsible for the provision of aviation services in support of Transport Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard operations as well as those of other federal departments and agencies. This position is located at the Aircraft Services' hangar at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.

Education
ED1: A secondary school diploma AND a completion of an acceptable program in
electronics technology OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
NOTE: Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
Experience
EX1: Experience in troubleshooting hardware and/or software systems.
EX2: Experience in the operation and maintenance of full flight simulators that are qualified to Level “D” Transport Canada or equivalent and flight training devices.
Occupational Certification
AOC1: possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license.
Experience
AEX1: Experience in the operation and maintenance of avionics and aircraft systems.
AEX2: Experience in software debugging and programming
AEX3: Experience as a supervisor.

Knowledge
K1: Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic theory.
K2: Knowledge of computer systems operation, maintenance and troubleshooting including hardware and software structures.
K3: Knowledge in the use of modern test equipment.
Abilities
A1: Ability to troubleshoot systems to identify deficiencies in the simulator software or hardware
A2: Ability to analyze and synthesize information, identify options and exercise judgment in order to determine the best solution; adapt to the situation.
A3:Ability to supervise a work team and/or flight simulator contractors
