Intent of the process

The immediate intention of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established from this process to staff similar positions at Elections Canada with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting) and various bilingual linguistic profiles (such as BBB/BBB, CCB/CCB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC).

EDUCATION

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Notes:
1.Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.

2.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Recent* and significant** experience in developing and implementing communications plans and strategies;
- Recent* and significant** experience in developing and writing a variety of communications products for target audiences such as briefing notes, media lines, new releases backgrounders, Web content, videos, brochures, posters, and/or social media messages;
- Recent* experience in providing communications advice to clients, stakeholders and management in support of organizational priorities and initiatives;
- Experience in leading communications projects from conception through completion and follow-up.

*Recent is defined as having performed the work within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the breadth, depth and complexity of responsibilities normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities in the field of communications over a period of three (3) years within the last five (5) years.

ASSET/EXPERIENCE

- Experience in supervising and evaluating the performance of staff;
- Experience in preparing purchasing, procurement or contracting documents, or in the management of contracts;
- Recent* experience in identifying communications issues and their potential impact and presenting effective recommendations;
- Recent* experience in leading or coordinating horizontal projects involving many players.

*Recent is defined as having performed the work within the last five years.
