EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position
OR
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position

EXPERIENCE
Significant* experience in the design, development, testing, in-service support or certification of aeronautical products.
* Significant is defined as having 3 or more years of engineering experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry.
DEPENDING ON THE POSITION BEING STAFFED, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS MAY ALSO BE DEEMED AS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND ONLY CANDIDATES AND PERSONS WITH A PRIORITY ENTITLEMENT WHO POSSESS THOSE QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THAT SPECIFIC VACANCY.
- Experience in the design, development, testing, in-service support or certification of aeronautical products
- Experience in the design approval of aeronautical products
- Experience in auditing design and or quality assurance systems
- Experience in providing guidance to others on the interpretation or application of regulations, standards or guidance material related to engineering activities
- Experience in project management within a technical environment
- Experience in risk management within a technical environment
- Experience, whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities, related to engineering applicable to:-
a. the design, development, testing, or certification of Aircraft Structures (AWM 523/525/527/529) or Loads and Structural Dynamics of Aircraft Structures (AWM 523/525/527/529)
b. the design, development, testing, or certification of occupant safety provisions and / or environmental systems on general aviation and / or transport category aircraft
c. the design, development, testing, or certification of engines or power plant installations on rotorcraft or fixed wing aircraft
d. the design, development, testing, or certification of aircraft fuel, flight control, landing gear or hydraulic systems
e. the design, development, or certification of the avionics systems
f. auditing airborne software or airborne electronic hardware processes for conformance to civil aviation design assurance standards
g. the design, development and verification of safety critical computer software or safety critical electronic hardware
h. the design, development, or certification of the aircraft electrical systems and electro-magnetic compatibility
i. the application of the System Development Assurance processes for complex or highly integrated aircraft systems including the interaction with the certification processes for software and airborne electronic hardware
- Experience in the application of the practices and processes for conducting safety assessments of complex or highly integrated aeronautical products, including flight critical systems and equipment design
- Experience in the development or approval of Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) or Minimum Equipment List (MEL)
- Experience in the development of regulations, standards or guidance materials related to engineering activities
- Experience in researching technical issues and developing policy discussions related to engineering activities
- Experience in the identification, evaluation and rectification of in-service airworthiness problems
- Experience in the application of non-destructive testing
- Knowledge of engineering applicable to aircraft, aircraft engines or other aeronautical products such as: design, development, testing, certification, maintenance, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, operations, or product support
- Knowledge of Canadian civil aviation airworthiness requirements and their application to aeronautical product certification

◦ How does an inventory work?
An inventory is a selection process that can be used by various hiring managers to meet their current and future needs. As a result, you will apply only once to be considered for multiple job opportunities at the EN-ENG-04 level.
◦ Why was my application automatically rejected when I submitted it?
In order to be placed in the inventory, you must meet the essential education qualification and the essential experience qualification at the time you submit your application. ◦ What does "Registered in the inventory" mean?
Once your application has been successfully submitted to the inventory, your status may be: "Date of disclosure of results: Listed in the inventory". This automatically generated message by the system means that your application can be considered. You will be informed in the event that your application is considered as part of a process generated from this inventory.
◦ What happens if my application expires?
Your application will be kept in the inventory for 180 days. A notice will be posted in the "My Job File" menu of your account 30 days before your application expires. If you do not take this into account, your application will be deactivated and it will no longer be considered for submissions from this inventory. In the event that your application expires during the effective period of this inventory, a notice will be posted in your account.
