Important messages

If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. Assessment accommodation

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

NOTE: This process is targeted to Aboriginal persons who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person. An Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include treaty, status or registered Indians, as well as non-status and non-registered Indians.

*The term “Aboriginal” is used within this job advertisement as it relates to the Employment Equity Act and other legislative frameworks. The term “Indigenous” is used, where feasible, in support of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Candidates as part of this process must self-declare as Aboriginal as the area of selection is limited to Aboriginal peoples only; as such, prior to appointment, hired candidates will have to complete and sign the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF).

Work environment

Are you interested in being part of a team that is committed to helping Canadians? Can you build trusting relationships with clients and co-workers? Can you make decisions based on a thorough analysis of facts and policies?

We are looking for individuals who share our enthusiasm for serving Canadians. Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) ensures employees have a safe, inclusive and innovative work environment where they feel valued and motivated.

Although we may work in a cubicle city, it’s an open and vibrant one of like-minded people that encourages collaboration and support among employees. There are social committees, events, and many ways to get engaged. ESDC is a large, yet connected organization of people dedicated to our clients and improving service delivery by constantly evolving with changes in technology, procedures and legislation…and we try to have as much fun as possible in the process.

Is this a good fit for you? Take a look at what each job is about.

The Benefits:
We offer a flexible work arrangement along with a comprehensive benefits package to promote healthy and engaged employees. Benefits include: vacation leave, pension, health and dental benefits and support from Management Teams who encourage training and career development.

Intent of the process

This process aims to create and maintain an inventory of Indigenous peoples qualified at the PM01 (Program Services Officer/Integrity Services Officer) level, and a second pool of qualified candidates at the PM02 (Integrity Services Investigator) level to staff positions within Employment and Social Development Canada in the W-T region. This pool could also be used to staff similar positions of various tenures within Employment and Social Development Canada in the W-T Region.

If the candidate selected for the position is an employee from the ‘Core Public Administration’, with an indeterminate status, the mechanism by which the candidate will be appointed will be an acting appointment. We therefore encourage everyone interested in this position to apply.

Initially a random selection among applications may be made. Randomly selected applicants will be assessed and those who meet all the essential qualifications will be placed in the qualified pool. Subsequent random selections from the remaining inventory and assessments may be conducted at a later date, and qualified candidates will be added to the same pool to fill future vacancies.

HOW THIS INVENTORY WORKS:

• Your application will be active for 120 days. You will receive notice on your account 30 days before your application is about to expire. If you do not take action, your application will become inactive and no longer be considered. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, you may select the link “update my inventory status” to reaffirm your interest.
• Remember to keep your information and application up to date.
• WAITING PERIOD FOR REASSESSMENT: The retest period for this assessment is 180 days from the date of elimination at either the written exam or interview/reference stage of the process. If you submit an application before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
