The intent of this selection process is to staff one English Essential position on an indeterminate basis.
However, a pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements (such as English Essential, Bilingual – Imperative (BBB/BBB) and Bilingual – Imperative (CBC/CBC)) within the Department of Environment and Climate Change Canada in Ottawa (Ontario). These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate or temporary basis.

►EDUCATION:
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, chemical, systems engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization).
►EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience in analyzing and presenting scientific or engineering data.
EX2: Experience developing partnerships with representatives from government, industry or other stakeholders on environmental issues.
EX3: Experience in the design and development of specialized test equipment.
EX4: Experience in preparing terms of reference, reviewing proposals, or managing engineering contracts or projects.
►ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience in designing analog and digital circuitry used to support data acquisition and control systems.
AEX2: Experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechatronic systems.
AEX3: Experience in testing vehicles in a laboratory.
AEX4: Experience in measuring exhaust emissions from the industrial sector.
