Salary, Allowances, and Benefits:
In addition to salary, you are entitled to an isolated posts allowance. This can range from $18,000 to $33,000 per year, depending on the number of dependants, geographic location and whether the accommodation is provided by the Crown. You are also entitled to vacation travel allowance of approximately $2,000 to $3,000 twice a year for you and each eligible dependant.
As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan and health, dental and group insurance.

Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) has a diverse mandate in Nunavut and hires people from many different fields like business administration, communications, geology, finance, policy, information technology, environmental technology and resource management.
The intent is to fill one (1) indeterminate position in Iqaluit.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to fill similar or identical positions in the future at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) or other federal departments and agencies located in Nunavut. Please note that the tenure or security requirements may vary.

Your résumé.
The following criteria will be assessed using your resume and the screening questions we ask you to complete online. To ensure that you are selected, you must demonstrate when, where and how you acquired each of the qualifications by giving concrete examples.
Here is what you must have to be selected:
• Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience that may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above.
• Experience in managing a project through various stages of the lifecycle in at least one of the following areas:
- Information Management/Information Technology
- System or application software development
- IT infrastructure
• Experience in formulating and implementing IM/IT plans and strategies in support of business transformation initiatives.
• Experience in managing or supervising personnel as well as managing outcomes of contract resources.
• Experience in managing financial resources in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, cost, resources estimating and/or recovery.
The following criteria will be assessed using your resume and online screening questions. However, they are only assets, so you do not need to meet them to be selected, but preference could be given to those who have them.
Here are the assets we are looking for:
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Computer Sciences, Technology, Information Management or any other field related to the position to be staffed.
• Experience working in a Northern environment.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment, specifically as it relates to Inuit culture and values.

You will have to communicate, both in writing and orally, in English as part of your work.
Information on language requirements
The following criteria are essential for the job, but they will be assessed later using different assessment methods (written exam, interview, reference check, etc.):
• Knowledge of current and emerging IM/IT trends and their application to current issues in the Government of Canada and/or in the industry.
• Knowledge of project and/or program management practices as they relate to projects, risks, human resources and/or finance.
• Knowledge of current government-wide initiatives that affect the management of IM/IT and the delivery of information services within the Government of Canada.
• Ability to create and deliver presentations in order to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to develop IM/IT plans and strategies.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, formulate options and make recommendations to senior management (Director Level or above).
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
In addition, you are able to:
• Create vision and strategy.
• Mobilize people.
• Serve with integrity and respect.
• Collaborate with partners and stakeholders.
• Promote innovation and guide change.
• Achieve results.

The following conditions must be met on taking up the position and maintained throughout the employment:
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Secret Security Clearance prior to taking up the position. A Medical Clearance might also be required.
