This process will be used to create a pool to staff similar positions within the Canadian Coast Guard with employment tenures, language requirements, security requirements and work locations that will vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.

Your résumé.
Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Studies (eg, Construction, Maintenance or Electromechanical Power) or an acceptable combination of education, training and job-related experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Recent and significant experience * in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and / or electronic installation and equipment.
* Recent and significant means an experience of at least 3 years acquired in the last 5 years.

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the operation of electrical and / or electronic installations and equipment.
Knowledge of the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the application of occupational health and safety rules.
ABILITIES:
Ability to interpret plans and specifications as well as the electrical code.
Ability to detect and correct problems on electrical and / or electronic installations and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing (writing short reports).
Ability to use a computer and the MS Office suite.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to plan and prepare a task (materials and equipment needed).

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Certificate of competence in electricity.
Map of ASP Construction with WHMIS mention.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience using Maximo software or any other database.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the operation of various generating sets.
Reliability Status security clearance
Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license in Quebec and agree to drive a motor vehicle.
Have passed Health Canada's medical examination.
To agree and be able to climb and work on structures (towers) up to 36 meters (120 feet) high.
To agree and be able to do hard work on the sometimes rough terrain and bad weather.
To agree and be able to travel for periods of up to 6 weeks and travel by various means of transportation including helicopter and small craft.
To agree and be able to complete administrative tasks using a computer such as producing short reports on equipment status, entering information into a database, completing expense reports, and so on.
