Please be advised this process will be used to staff positions in the new department of Indigenous Services Canada. The creation of Indigenous Services Canada is an important development in our renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples. These structural changes will allow our government to work more effectively with Indigenous partners to provide services that improve people’s day-to-day quality of life. Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill one (1) English Essential position.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Current registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

Experience working in a community health and/ or public health program.

Experience dealing with electronic health systems and administration.

Experience supervising employees.

Degree equivalency

Experience providing public health nursing in a First Nation community or with a First Nations organization.
Experience in reviewing, analyzing and synthesizing written reports.
Experience providing advice or recommendations to management on health issues.
Experience with Urgent, In-patient, Palliative Care and Hemodialysis.

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
Possess and maintains registration as a Registered Nurse in Manitoba.
Willing and able to travel - this could include travel to remote locations by small aircraft or fleet vehicles.
