The Deputy Surgeon General is seeking a motivated and impartial leader to direct, manage and advance the Canadian Forces Health Services (CFHS) professional regulatory framework. Primary responsibilities include clinician credentialing and privileging, in addition to providing advice at all levels on the management of professional performance. The functions performed by the National Manager Professional Affairs play a critical role in the provision of safe and effective health care services for the CAF within the Department of National Defence (DND). The work by the National Manager Professional Affairs is performed in a strategic environment where collaboration is essential in achieving organizational goals.
There is a need to staff one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff future similar positions.

Graduation with a medical degree from a recognized school of medicine.
Possesses and maintains an active unrestricted license to practice medicine from a provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Be a member in good standing of a provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons and be willing to provide Certificate of Professional Conduct.
Significant clinical experience in a complex, interdisciplinary healthcare environment;
Experience in management of human, financial and material resources;
Experience in the investigation and management of complaints related to the provision of health care;
Experience managing and advising on the management of Health Care Professional performance issues;
Experience liaising with outside agencies, regulatory bodies and professional associations in matters related to health care;
Experience working with Internet search engines as well as Microsoft suite applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
