This process will be used to staff numerous indeterminate (permanent) or determinate (temporary) positions.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of National Defence in Valcartier, whose duration, language proficiencies and security profiles could vary depending on the position being staffed.
A random and/or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

EDUCATION
E1: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the position.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
GT-01 positions only:
PC1: Hold a prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) for a Civilian Ammunition Technician level 1 (CAT-1)
PC2: Hold a QL 3 or RQ Private qualification from a military program
PC3: Experience judged equivalent to qualifications stated above.
GT-02 positions only:
PC1: Hold a prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) for a Civilian Ammunition Technician level 3 (CAT-3); or
PC2: Hold a QL 5 or RQ Caporal qualification from a military program; or
PC3: Experience judged equivalent to qualifications stated above.
GT-03 positions only:
PC1: Hold a prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) for a Civilian Ammunition Technician level 3 (CAT-3); or
PC2: Hold a QL 6a or RQ Sergeant qualification from a military program.
EXPERIENCES
Common to all positions:
EX1: Experience in reception and issue of ammunition and explosives.
EX2: Experience in storing and inspecting ammunition and explosives.
GT-02 and GT-03 positions only:
EX3: Experience in destruction of ammunition and explosives.
GT-03 positions only:
EX4: Experience in activity, operations and project management in the field of ammunition and explosives.
KNOWLEDGE
Common to all positions:
K1: Extensive knowledge of military ammunition, pyrotechnics and explosives in the CAF inventory.
K2: Extensive knowledge in aid to production and the sorting of salvage.
K3: Knowledge of storage and handling rules of hazardous materials.
GT-02 and GT-03 positions only:
K4: Knowledge of regulations, orders, directives and policies concerning the transportation of ammunitions, purotechnics and explosives.
ABILITIES
AB1: Ability to safely handle ammunition and explosives.
AB2: Ability to communication orally.
AB3: Ability to communicate by writing.

Secret Security Clearance
Pass a medical examination prior to employment
Hold a valid Class 5 provincial driver’s license or equivalent.
Must be willing to work occasional overtime.
Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 13 kg (30 lbs).
