In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Possession of a valid British Columbia OR Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certificate for Sheet Metal Worker.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Recent and extensive experience** in the repair, maintenance, inspection OR installation of commercial OR industrial trade related systems and equipment

** Recent and extensive experience – Candidates must possess 2 years’ experience obtained within the last 5 years.

Experience working in a trade in a Ship Maintenance Unit
Specialized experience in an industrial trade related systems and equipment

Operational Requirements:

Operational requirements may be required for some positions. These requirements will be communicated to the candidates considered for that specific appointment. They may include:

Willingness to work overtime as required
Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Willingness to work in confined spaces
Willingness to work at heights from ladders and scaffolding
May be exposed to noxious fumes and extreme heat/cold conditions
Able and willing to travel

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment:

Security Clearance (various levels including Reliability and Secret).

Other conditions of employment may be required for some positions. These conditions will be communicated to the candidates considered for that specific appointment. They may include:

Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment
Candidates must be willing and able to work in heights, confined spaces, and physically lift of up to 27 kg when required
Willing and able to climb vertical ladders up to 24 metres.
Willing and able to work shifts.
Willing and able to carry tools & equipment (not exceeding 27kg) from work sites.
Willing and able to conduct at-sea trials in naval vessels, occasionally over a period of days. (i.e. Including travel )
