The Senior Project Officer, Information Management (IM) provides IM expertise to deliver projects aimed at improving the effective management and use of the Department's information assets, including rethinking paper processes through digitization and reimagining how those information assets are managed to enable better use of data/content analytics and artificial intelligence solutions.
As a Senior IM Project Officer you will be primarily responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Meeting with client groups on a regular basis to discuss their information requirements
- Analyse and document information flows associated with business processes
- Develop policy instruments to assist programs to integrate information management practices into their business processes
- Design IM tools to effectively manage and use information assets
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues

This process may be used to establish a pool of candidates that may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various official language proficiencies, various security profiles, various tenures (Indeterminate, Temporary) using various staffing mechanisms at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. If a pool is established following this staffing process, all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) will be able to use it in order to staff similar positions across Canada.

EDUCATION
ED1. Successful completion of a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Information Management or in a field relevant to the work to be performed OR an acceptable* combination of education, training, and progressively responsible professional work experience.
*An acceptable combination is defined as a secondary school diploma and seven (7) years of relevant progressively responsible professional work experience.
EXPERIENCE

EXP3. Experience providing strategic advice or recommendations to senior management with respect to information management issues.

Secret security clearance - STEP 5 of the assessment process - SECURITY CLEARANCE
The hiring department is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process.
Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must provide residence information for the last five (5) years and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you
must provide residence information for the last ten (10) years.
The process may involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, credit checks (if required), and fingerprints.
