All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
***Online evaluation***
When you complete your application online, you will be asked to answer a question to assess the following competencies : « Ability to communicate effectively in writing » and « Ability to interpret policies and legislation ». Your answer will allow the Assessment Board to determine whether you possess these two competencies and whether you will be invited to the next steps of the process. You will find other specific instructions in your online application. Note that this question will be corrected at a later step in the selection process only if you are screened in.
The following are the expected behaviours for each of these competencies :
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
• Candidate writes without or with very few grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors.
• Text is well structured and logical.
• The candidate clearly and concisely defines messages, important points and issues
Ability to interpret policies and legislation
• The candidate demonstrates an ability to understand the Acts and key facts.
• The candidate is able to articulate the purpose and main points of the Acts in their own words.
• The candidate is able to demonstrate tangible differences between the two Acts.
*** Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their responses to the screening questions how they meet the “essential qualifications” (education AND experiences).
FOR EACH CRITERIA/ QUESTION, please provide the following MANDATORY information:
1 - Name of the department or organization where the experience was acquired;
2 - Title of the position occupied and duration for which you exercised the functions;
3 - Specific details of tasks, projects or accomplishments demonstrating the experience was acquired.
The answers provided to the screening questions will be the main source of information. Failure to provide complete answers may result in job applications being screened out from further consideration in this process. Should you indicate in your response "please refer to resume" we may be unable to assess you against the position’s essential qualifications which could result in a failure. Lack of examples and details will result in your application being rejected. Applicants will not be contacted to clarify incomplete or missing information.
"Asset qualifications" could be used either at the screening phase or to determine which candidate will be appointed. Therefore, if candidates meet the asset qualifications, they should also describe in their answers to the screening questions how they meet these qualifications using detailed and concrete examples.
The intention of this process is to fill two indeterminate positions. However, a pool of qualified candidates would be established to fill positions at Transport Canada.
