The immediate need is to staff a determinate position until April 2022. The source of funding for the position is for a limited duration (Sunset funding). Therefore, no indeterminate appointments will me made through this selection process at this moment.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established within Transport Canada and may be used to staff similar positions in various locations in Canada, with various tenures (including indeterminate, term, assignment, secondment, acting, deployment), various linguistic requirements, and various security profiles.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience writing reports, briefing material or educational materials.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office; specifically, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Experience in establishing partnerships with stakeholders, such as representatives from governments or non-governments organizations.
• Experience in developing, coordinating and delivering awareness activities, such as information sessions, training courses and PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience in conducting research, carrying out analysis and making recommendations.
• Experience in managing projects.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the boating industry/recreational boating community.
• Experience delivering or developing injury prevention programs.

KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of Canada Shipping Act, 2001 and its associated regulations as well as regulations related to small vessel safety.
• Knowledge of the Office of Boating Safety and its activities.
• Knowledge of small vessel safety requirements and equipment.
