You will be part of the Census Marketing, Engagement, Research and Stakeholder Relations Team to help generate awareness of the 2021 Census across Canada.
Data from the census are used by governments, businesses, associations, organizations and many others to make important decisions. The information provided by the census accurately reflects Canada's changing society.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for seasoned marketing, communications and outreach professionals with experience in the development, coordination and execution of partner and stakeholder engagement tactics; providing advice to management on strategic communications approaches and best practices; development, coordination and execution of media and public relations activities; and, team management.
The intent of this selection process is to fill on (1) determinate positions (Excluded positions under the Statistics Canada Census and Survey related Term Employment Exclusion Approval Order) in Montreal with the possibility of extension.

Education:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Notes:
1.Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
2.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.
Experience:
EXP1 - Significant* experience with the development, coordination and execution of partner and stakeholder engagement tactics, aimed at expanding the reach and reception of promotional and communications activities.
EXP2 - Significant* experience in providing advice to management on strategic communications approaches and best practices.
EXP3 - Experience with development, coordination and execution of media and public relations activities.
EXP4 - Experience in managing a team of two employees or more.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired with having performed the related activities for a period of two (2) years.

Information on employment equity
As an excluded employee, you will be subject to the majority of the provisions of the Public Service Employment Act with some exceptions. Your employment will be subject to the following:
- You will not be eligible for internal appointment processes or deployments, except for acting appointments and deployments made to positions excluded by the Statistics Canada Census and Survey Related Term Employment Exclusion Approval Order (EAO).
- You will not be eligible for indeterminate status as a result of your employment in the Census program; time spent as an excluded employee will not count towards the three-year term to indeterminate conversion.
- You will be entitled to seven days' notice if you are rejected on probation.
- You will be entitled to seven days' notice when your employment ends, should your services no longer be required by reason of lack of work, the end of the census cycle or the transfer of work to other staff.

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
