The applicant must be willing to perform some soil and plant sampling work in the field (spring, summer and late fall). Review the literature and summarize the information in different formats such as reports/presentations.
The Quebec Research and Development Centre focuses its research in two areas: soil-water-air resources and field crops such as forage. More specifically, the Centre’s staff works on the genetic improvement and management of forage crops for Eastern Canada. It also carries out work on the management and conservation of soil-water-air resources. In addition, it ensures the development of fodder and cereal production methods adapted to the context of sustainable agriculture.

The student must currently be enrolled in a doctoral program in the Soil and Agri-Food Engineering Department at Université Laval, or must be enrolled in the program before the appointment date.
Experience with data entry, processing, modeling and interpretation using software such as Excel, SAS, R, XLSTAT, STATA, Minitab, STICS, SPSS and Word.
*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the biochemical cycles of nutrients (N, P, C) in agricultural systems;
Knowledge of soil analysis methods, particularly for phosphorus, nitrogen and carbon;
Knowledge of crop growth and nutrient modeling software.
Mastery of the STICS crop growth model.
