If chosen, the employee will not be on travel status, and, as a results, no travel time will be paid or expenses reimbursed.
Assists in the purchase, dispensing and distribution of medications to correctional institutions of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and in the maintenance of pharmacy and institutional inventory and related records systems.
This selection process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates for anticipatory employment opportunities in various locations in the Atlantic region.

EDUCATION :
Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician diploma program or registered pharmacy technician certification program.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :
Active licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with the Provincial College of Pharmacists/Pharmacy in the location of work.
EXPERIENCE :
Experience in providing technical services in pharmacy.
KNOWLEDGE :
- Knowledge of Pharmacy Practices, Brand Name and Generic Drug Equivalencies and dosages of commonly used drugs.
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical terminology and abbreviations.
- Knowledge of Narcotic and Controlled Drugs and their usage and regulations.
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical mathematics and calculations.
- Knowledge of common pharmacy procedures.
- Knowledge of the legislation, regulations and record keeping governing the storage, control, and dispensing of drugs and narcotics/controlled drugs in province of employment.
ABILITIES :
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.

- Ability to Organize and prioritize.
- Ability to conduct independent technical verification of prescription products.
- Ability to independently monitor accuracy of medication records.
