Duties

• Meet the requirements set by the Department for master students.
• Conduct literature review and summarize information under different formats
• Develop economic model and research methodologies
• Collect and maintain primary and secondary data
• Perform statistical analyses of data, present and discuss results.
• Write and defend the thesis.

Work environment

Under supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting economic research on the topic entitled “Assessment of different cropping systems including crop rotations, supplemental irrigation and reduced tillage on nutrient cycling, soil properties and potato performance in PEI”. The incumbent will be based at Dalhousie University. The incumbent will be enrolled at Dalhousie University and meet their requirements for a masters candidate.

Currently enrolled or will be enrolled in a full-time Master’s Program at Dalhousie University with specialization in the field of Economics or Agricultural Economics or Applied Agriculture or closely-related field by date of appointment.

Degree equivalency

Experience in conducting literature review and in summarizing information under different formats (reports or presentations).
Experience in conducting statistical analyses from agriculture related-experimental trials.
Experience in developing and working with an appropriate simulation model and analysis of economic data related to agricultural production.

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
