There is an immediate need to staff four (4) positions in Petawawa, Borden and North Bay, Ontario.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar permanent and/or temporary positions in various locations across Ontario.

Experience:
EX1 – *Recent and **significant industrial and/or commercial electrical experience

Recent* is defined as experience gained within the last (5) years.
Significant** is defined as having a minimum of two (2) years’ experience.

Occupational Certification:
OC1 - Possession of a valid Province of Ontario Electrical Trade Certificate of Qualification (309A) OR inter-provincial red seal certificate of qualification OR Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 (minimum) in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)

Note: Candidates who do not currently possess a valid Province of Ontario Electrical Trade Certificate of Qualification or the inter-provincial Red Seal will be required to obtain their Red Seal certificate of qualification in the electrical trade prior to appointment. Abilities:

• Working at Heights Certificate
• Confined Space Entry Certificate
• Possession of a valid CSA Standard Z462 Arc Flash Training Certificate
• Possession of a valid Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician Trade Certificate of Qualification (442A) OR inter-provincial red seal certificate
• Possession of a valid Canadian Fire Alarm certificate issued by the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA)

Experience:
• Experience and/or training working on Airfield Lighting.

Operational Requirements:
• Must be willing to wear and/or utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations.
• Must be Willing to work from heights.
• Must be willing to be on a standby or call out list, carry a cell phone and respond to after hour calls.
• Must be willing to work overtime including weekends.
• The position may be required to stand, climb, walk, lift, bend, pull, push, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, sit, read, write, determine color, speak and listen, work at heights from ladders, scaffolding or elevated platforms and work in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing to travel and attend courses.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Must possess a valid unrestricted class “G” driver’s license issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial or territorial equivalent
Eligibility and willingness to obtain the DND 404 military driver’s license.
Current and acceptable driver’s abstract
Must obtain and maintain a Province of Ontario Electrical Trade license and/or red seal certification in the electrical trade
