The initial intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position at Canadian Forces base Greenwood.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures in the Atlantic Region.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- Possession of a valid Nova Scotia or Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic; or a military RM Tech QL5 (AIJM) qualification; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to mechanical or control systems.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the repair, maintenance, or installation of: Commercial or industrial
refrigeration/HVAC systems; or Mechanical systems associated with hangar doors, overhead doors and compressors; or Computerized control related systems associated with HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Experience supervising a team.
- Experience using computer based software and programs such as Microsoft Suite including Word and Outlook.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience* in fixed or mobile HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Experience* in Aircraft Arresting Systems (AAS).
- Experience* in mechanical systems associated with Aircraft Radar Systems.
- Experience* in mechanical systems associated with hangar doors.
- Experience* in mechanical systems associated with overhead doors.
- Experience* in mechanical systems associated with compressors.
- Experience* in computerized control systems associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Experience working in a military airfield environment.
* Experience is defined as the repair, maintenance, or installation.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted provincial Class 5 Driver’s licence.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions such as extreme weather, confined spaces or heights and physically lift of up to 25 kg, when required.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Must be willing and able to be fit tested to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to obtain a departmental vehicle operators permit (DND 404).
- Must be able to obtain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course.
