FUNCTION – KEYS ACTIVITIES:
Operates, monitors, inspects, maintains and repairs high and low pressure boilers, pressure vessels, fed water systems, chemical feed systems, storage vessels heat distribution and related equipment and others systems such as cooling, electric power generation and the pumping and storage of fuel.
Initiates emergency procedures to restore heating and or other services in the event of power failures and or interruption of fuel supply.
Responds to trouble calls inside and outside the plant and takes action to resolve the issue.
Investigates, inspects, tests and reports on any conditions that could affect the security and safety of the plant and personnel.
Monitors heating and others systems at remote sites.
Maintains operating logs and compiles data on plant operations, production and labour, fuel and materiel costs.

The intent is to fill one position for HP-04 Shift Engineer in Winnipeg (Manitoba).

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC1-Possession of a valid Second Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate
OR First Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate
OR
Hold a valid Third Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate and have completed most of the exams for Second Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate.
EXPERIENCE
EX1-Experience in the operation and maintenance of a high and low pressure steam plant including ancillary equipment.
EX2- Experience using a computer for administrative functions including email and word processing.
