We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
An inventory advertisement allows a continuous intake of applications, over as long a period as desired. Once a candidate has submitted their application it will stay active in the inventory (assuming it meets the essential screening criteria) for 180 days. At the end of that period, candidates will need to refresh their application to ensure it stays active in the inventory. 15 days prior to the end of the 180 day period, candidates will receive a notice to their applicant profile instructing them that their application will expire unless it is refreshed. Candidates are also able to withdraw their application from the inventory anytime they desire.
If you are found unsuccessful during any point of the process your application will not be considered again until 180 days has elapsed from the date of your elimination notification. After 180 days, you may submit a new application.
Work duties may include: Operation, installation, maintenance, repair of all Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration systems, components and equipment providing optimum physical environmental conditions for the occupants, management and staff of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) facilities.
The Technical Services, Pacific Region, of Correctional Service Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment whose mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio of more than $ 8 billion dollars in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters located throughout British Columbia. The facilities we manage are diverse such as buildings and structures, building mechanics systems, electrical distribution networks, infrastructures, generators, oil tanks, thermal power stations, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and automobile fleets to name only a few.
Results of this process will be to create a pool of qualified candidates from which future indeterminate and/or specified period vacancies may be filled. This process may be used to staff similar positions in the Pacific Region.
