Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one EG-04 position for a determinate period of 2 years, with a possibility of extension.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar EG-04 positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation from a recognized college, trade school, or vocational school with a specialization in mechanical engineering technology or manufacturing technology, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience installing and assembling mechanical equipment and process equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, etc.
Experience fixing and maintaining mechanical machines and equipment.
Experience calibrating and commissioning mechanical equipment.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience working in an experimental or laboratory workplace.
Experience welding.
Experience machining parts and using conventional machining tools.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of workshop or laboratory health and safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge of CAD software such as Autocad or Inventor.
Knowledge of procedures for machining and assembling mechanical equipment and assemblies.
Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of machining and mechanical fabrication tools (lathe, band saw, etc).

Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to assemble, repair and operate mechanical fabrication equipment.
