EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position such as physical geography, environmental science or biology
Note:
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE
Experience* in modeling particle dispersion in aquatic environments
Experience* in conducting research project involving the dispersion of particle in aquatic environments e.g. rivers, estuaries, oceans
* Experience must be work or internship related. Experience through classroom or education only will not be considered
EDUCATION (ASSET)
Post-graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable
specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, ocean sciences mathematics, engineering or some other science relevant to the position
EXPERIENCE (ASSETS)
Experience with spatial analyses
Experience with time-series analyses
Experience programming using languages such as Fortran, R, Python, Matlab, etc
Experience conducting oceanographic work, monitoring or modeling in the coastal zone
Experience in ocean circulation modeling
Experience using the Finite Volume Coastal Model (FVCOM)
Experience modeling the dispersion of particles or tracers such as environmental DNA (eDNA)
Experience estimating the probability of detection of eDNA
Experience in the analysis of real-time PCR data
Experience performing real-time PCR assays
Experience in water filtration
Experience in DNA extraction
Experience performing statistical analysis in R or other statistical packages
Experience doing statistical analysis e.g. analysis of variance, linear regression, etc
Experience using mapping tools e.g. ArcGIS
Experience using LINUX
Experience preparing scientific reports and publications
Experience with handling live fish in an experimental setup
Various language requirements
Unilingual English essential and Various bilingual imperative profiles (BBB/BBB, BBC/BBC, CBC/CBC,CCC/CCC)
