A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, computer science, information technology, or another specialty relevant to the positon.

Experience
• Experience in using computer programming languages for cloud or science-based application development

• KN1: Knowledge of computer modelling and simulation, mathematical or statistical algorithms.
• KN2: Knowledge of methodology and software to define, analyze and integrate data sets, and to verify data integrity

Abilities
• AB1: Ability to develop and implement scientific models by planning, executing, and maintaining computer programs in one or more of C, C++, Python, Java, R, FORTRAN, Lisp, Prolog, SAS, or MATLAB
• AB2: Ability to work with end-users to understand business needs and to develop new technologies into end-user applications
• AB3: Ability to communicate effectively orally

Asset Qualifications
• AQ1: Experience developing technical documentation, and code versioning.

• AQ4: Experience collaborating with operational fire management agencies

• AQ2: Ability to use Geographic Information Systems including ESRI and open sources software to produce databases, maps and other digital products
