This project will involve extraction and analysis of known and identification of unknown phytochemicals in different food samples using state-of-the-art instrumentations such as HPLC and LC-MS, and assessment of the effect of these compounds using in vitro and cell culture techniques. Other activities include collection of data, perform data analysis from experiments and report results as well as write research reports and peer reviewed manuscripts.
Includes a level II containment facility. Work will include handling infectious agents and hazardous materials. Appropriate training will be provided to create a safe work environment.

Currently enrolled or eligible to be enrolled in a Master program at the University of Guelph in Food Science.
Experience* in food chemistry and analytical chemistry.

Each student hired through the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) must meet the security requirements of the position as a condition of employment, and therefore will be asked by the hiring organization to complete security-relevant documents.
