Duties

Develop, fix and publish web pages/sites within multiple technical environments (Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and DRUPAL CMS) in both official languages for the following websites:
o Canada.ca
o Recalls and Safety Alerts
o GC News Portal
o HC and PHAC Intranet site (mySource)

Assess web sites or web content against Government of Canada Web Standards (https://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx?id=2360) or other relevant Government of Canada policies and standards such as the Standard on Web Accessibility, WCAG 2.0, Canada.ca Content and Information Architecture Specification, to address any gaps and ensure compliance.

Create and conduct quality assurance checks and perform maintenance on websites, pages, and other interactive web components using current web development techniques, tools and languages (i.e. Dreamweaver, XHTML, HTML 5, CSS, Drupal, W3C, validators, etc.)

Perform other web development tasks in support of Health Canada’s and the Public Health Agency of Canada’s web presence.

Participate and contribute in team meetings or discussions related to the Internet/Intranet.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with similar requirements.

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
Note: Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the coding of website layout/structure, links and/or metadata
Experience coding web pages with HTML5 coding
Experience providing quality assurance for web page (ex. design and content)

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
(These criteria may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed)
Experience using content management systems (for example Adobe Experience Manager and/or Drupal)
Experience using web publishing tools (for example Adobe Dreamweaver or other similar software)
Experience in creating or using cascading style sheets
Experience creating and editing fillable PDF forms that meet all Government of Canada Accessibility standards
Experience implementing the Web Experience Toolkit (WET 4)
