The intent of this process is to staff one (1) English Essential indeterminate SE RES poisition located in Edmonton, Alberta.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar SE-RES positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements (English or French Essential and Bilingual BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC), various security requirements and various conditions of employment.

Graduation with an acceptable master's or bachelor's degree coupled with acceptable research, training and experience. The degree must be from a recognized post-secondary institution and in scientific fields and specialties related to the duties of the position. The training and experience must clearly demonstrate the ability to do personal research of doctoral degree calibre.
Experience engaging with communities to conduct social science research.
Experience collecting, compiling, analyzing and interpreting social science data and results.
Experience communicating results of research through publications, reports and presentations.
Experience conducting and planning research studies in the social sciences.
Experience developing new research techniques and methods.
Experience supervising scientific staff, students and visiting scientists.
Experience in Social science on cumulative impacts.
Experience in Social Science on the human dimensions of wildfire.
Experience in Social Science on caribou.
Experience working with indigenous communities.
