Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar EN-ENG-03 positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Mechanical or Building Engineering or some other engineering speciality relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Significant experience* in modeling/simulation of Heating, Cooling, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment or systems for commercial and institutional buildings;
Significant experience* in the appraisal of energy efficiency measures for commercial and institutional buildings;
Experience in writing project reports.

*Significant experience is defined as of more than 5 years of work experience.

Knowledge of energy evaluation software for buildings: eQUEST or Open Studio/ EnergyPlus or TRNSYS or equivalent.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing;
Ability to communicate effectively orally;

Autonomy;
Creativity in problem resolution.

The following may be applied / assessed at a later date (may be needed for the job)

Graduation with a Master's Degree in applied science from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of HVAC systems, energy efficiency for buildings, or energy simulations for buildings;

Degree equivalency
