Duties

The candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining data acquisition software and hardware in order to allow for hydrometeorological measurements taken at the NEIGE experimental site (Forêt Montmorency, Québec Province) to be transmitted in real-time to Université Laval scientists and eventually to ECCC. The candidate will also be asked to perform quality control on data being acquired and transmitted in order to verify that the data acquisition systems are working properly. Finally, the candidate shall be able to communicate the result of his work orally and in writing.

Work environment

The student will work in a laboratory and will be required to take part in frequent field trips. He will collaborate with academic and government researchers on a daily basis.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
ED1. The student must be currently enrolled in a Master program in sciences or engineering at Université Laval.

It is required that the student be enrolled in a program at Université Laval in order to be able to perform field work at the Forêt Montmorency site, which belongs to Université Laval, and in order to have access to equipment provided by the university. Being enrolled in a science or engineering Master's program is required due to the complexity of the tasks.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience in data processing with the R software.
EX2. Experience with setting up monitoring devices for hydrology, agronomy or forestry.
EX3. Experience in communicating at a scientific assembly.
