An inclusive workplace in which individual differences are recognized, appreciated and respected, and where each person’s talents and strengths are fully developed and utilized.

Representation matters!

Creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued begins with self-declaration. Count yourself in and self-declare by identifying to which employment equity group(s) you belong to.

Give yourself the best chance to succeed!

If you have a limitation that may impact your performance during an assessment, such as a test or interview, you may require an accommodation. Work environment

The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) is looking for the best and brightest Canadian graduates who are looking to make a difference in the lives of all Canadians.

Why work at TBS:
- Specifically, we are actively looking to hire Indigenous people to lead and support the development of policies and programs, bringing important experiences and perspectives to this process;
- TBS is an excellent place to launch a career in the public service. For new employees, the department provides opportunities to understand the management policies of government, and to support Ministers in their program and funding decision making;
- As the ‘General Manager’ of the public service, and one of the three central agencies of the Government of Canada, TBS provides advice and makes recommendations to the Treasury Board Ministers on how the government spends money, how it regulates and how it is managed;
- The knowledge gained working at TBS will position any public servant, and in particular new public servants, to succeed and be impactful in any government organization, in particular organizations focused on the delivery of programs to Canadians;
- Gaining experience in an organization such as TBS at the outset of one’s career provides an individual with a competitive advantage for interesting opportunities across the public service.

Still not convinced? TBS also offers:
- An excellent workplace for public servants (e.g., the department hires a number of students throughout the year, and has plenty of learning and training opportunities);
- Increasing support for Indigenous employees, as well as recognition of the valuable and necessary perspectives Indigenous employees bring to policy and program development;
- An opportunity to contribute on the job in a meaningful way from the get-go on key priorities (e.g., supporting the implementation of government programs and regulations; developing new management policies, including those focused on human resources and digital government).

Intent of the process

This process will enable you to be matched to career options such as (not limited to): financial officer, financial analyst, policy analyst, economist, human resources advisor.

A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process will be created and may be used to fill entry level positions in a variety of disciplines with linguistic profiles and requirements (imperative and non-imperative) and various tenures depending on the positions to be staffed.

This pool may also be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm).

By applying to this process, you consent to your personal application-related information being shared with other government departments interested in staffing similar positions.

This process is targeted to individuals who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person when applying. The Self-declaration form is completed as part of the job application under the Employment Equity tab. An Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include treaty, status or registered Indians, as well as non-status and non-registered Indians. The term “Aboriginal” is used within this job advertisement as it relates to the Employment Equity Act and other legislative frameworks. The term “Indigenous” is used, where feasible, in support of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The Aboriginal affiliation will be verified at the time of the appointment. Please read more at the following link: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/jobs/services/gc-jobs/employment-equity.html
