A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and Edmonton with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or other related field such as geomatics, geodetic sciences or remote sensing.
Experience:
- Recent and Significant experience* in the provision of a full range of Geomatics services in executing Real Property ** projects with various degrees of complexity and magnitude.
- Experience conducting Legal, Topographic and/or Construction surveys.
- Experience in managing Land Surveying and Geomatics projects.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as having managed real property projects of varying degrees of complexity and type for a minimum of five years within the last 10 years including at least three years of Canadian experience.
**Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations (e.g. interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements, and other utilities on, above, or below the surface of the land.
Asset Qualifications
- Eligible for a license to practice land surveying with a professional land surveying regulatory body in Canada.
- Experience in the application of information management policies and practices as it relates to Real Property spatial information holdings.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Land Survey systems currently in use in Canada
- Knowledge of the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Laws, Acts, and/or Regulations in Canada pertaining to land surveying
- Knowledge of the Geographic Information Systems, data management and/or quality assurance

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
Public service employees found qualified in this process may be considered for acting, assignment, deployment or secondment.

Candidates from outside the Federal Public Service will be required to pay for their own travel expenses for various phases of testing/assessment.
A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
