We are seeking a bilingual Security and Emergency Officer to join our dynamic team.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC position in Ottawa for an indeterminate period.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this process which may be used to staff similar positions within the Department of Justice Canada in Ottawa with various tenures, bilingual imperative only and/or conditions of employment, which may vary according to the position to be staffed.

To be considered for this position:
EDUCATION
ED1 - You must have successfully completed two years of a educational program from a recognized post-secondary institution in a specialty relevant to the position being staffed.
OR
Graduated with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1 - You must have recent* experience in a corporate security program** in at least two (2) of the following areas:
A) Physical Security
B) Personnel Security
C) Business Continuity Planning
D) Information Security
E) Security awareness and training
F) Occupational Health and Safety
G) Emergency Management

* Recent experience is defined as within the last five (5) years.

** Corporate program: Mid - large public organizations or private corporations with a well-defined corporate security program, structure and organization that is the business lead for identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, and personal risk; establish appropriate standards and risk controls associated with employee protection, information security, asset protection, emergency management and response; and, the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures related to information technology security. Typically, such organizations exist in large Government Departments (Federal, Provincial, Territorial), large Municipalities, large corporations and public or private organizations with significant employee populations (1000+) or campus type settings (e.g. hospitals, colleges, universities, large manufacturing plants, utilities companies, banks).
