Intent of the process

The intent is to create an inventory that may be used to staff various administrative and client service positions at the AS-01, CR-05 and PM-01 levels for various locations across Canada other than the above mentioned locations. It may also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various language requirements, and various security requirements within the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

EDUCATION:
EDU1 - A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative*.

*The employer-approved alternative is an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience**.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

POSSIBLE POSITION CATEGORIES:

Program support services position
Description:
This position provides administrative support to a team of program delivery officers. Reporting to the Manager, Program Delivery, the position entails database / system integrity management for tracking various types of project or client information; following up on reporting requirements and providing quality assurance support; tracking the status of client requests for funding as files progress through the project life cycle; making recommendations for improved processes and procedures; processing and delivering submissions/contracts/contribution agreements; preparing correspondence, reports and presentations; and, participating in and recording unit meetings.

Communications officer position
Description:
Support ISED’s (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) websites by providing internal and external clients with advice on consumer and business information as well as the most effective ways to research and access this information. Analyze, interpret, and identify citizens’ business needs and recommend orally or in writing (in both official languages) appropriate products and services, determine the appropriate course of action to resolve enquiries, and/or direct clients to alternative sources of information.

Administrative officer position
Description:
This position is to provide support to the Directors in coordinating and monitoring their schedule and emails. Also provide any other administrative support that the Director’s office requires. As well, the position ensures completion of paperwork related to effective payment of invoices, submit translation requests, provide financial information to clients and process arrival and departure of employees.

Services officer position
Description:
Receives triages, responds to a variety of enquiries, and provides information to a wide variety of internal and external clients by phone, mail, email, facsimile and chat. Reviews and verifies information in client applications.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- (e.g.: variable hours, overtime, or travel) may be identified based on the position(s) being staffed.
