The immediate needs is to replace on a temporary basis for one year a position in North Vancouver.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar EN-ENG-03 positions with different tenures (specified period, indeterminate, assignment, secondment, acting), various linguistics profiles and various security clearance requirements within Environment and Climate Change Canada in North Vancouver only.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering or environmental engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience working in collaboration with governments, industry or non-governmental organizations, on environmental issues.
EX2. Experience assessing the environmental impacts of wastewater effluents.
EX3. Experience in the analysis of technologies and processes used to reduce or control the releases of pollutants in the environment.
EX4. Experience in gathering and analyzing technical data and making recommendations in various formats, including presentations and reports.

K1. Knowledge of engineering processes and technologies related to wastewater treatment and collection systems.
K2. Knowledge of dispersion modelling practices and parameters.
K3. Knowledge of water quality monitoring and assessment.

ASSET QUALIFICATION - EDUCATION
AE1. Graduation with a master degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with Specialization in a field relevant to the position.
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE
AEx1. Experience in preparation and review of project documents such as technical reports, terms of reference, and statements of work.
AEx2. Experience modelling wastewater treatment plant discharges.
AEx3. Experience using MIKE modelling software.
AEx4. Experience with water quality monitoring programs.
AEx5. Experience working in the field of shellfish resource.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
• Willing and able to travel within Canada and worldwide (by car, train and plane).
