Intent of the process

-This process will be used to staff various bilingual CR-05/AS-01 positions within the RCMP in Ottawa, Ontario. Most positions are located at 73 Leikin Drive in the South-West of Ottawa (Barrhaven). This pool will not be used to staff positions outside of the RCMP.
-ALL positions staffed will require a bilingual profile of BBB/BBB or higher and will require an RCMP enhanced reliability security clearance level or higher.

Successful completion of secondary school education or a combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE - "Nice to have" (You will be asked during your application if you possess any of these assets and if so, you will be asked to demonstrate in detail, using concrete examples how you meet them) These assets may be used by hiring managers when making selection decisions from the pool of qualified candidates.

1. Experience working in a financial or accounting environment performing duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable or salary management, etc.;

2. Experience in the use of a financial information system (such as SAP);

3. Experience in the provision of human resource support services;

4. Experience in conducting searches/retrieval, organizing and maintaining official information/records/files;

5. Experience in gathering, compiling and analyzing information;

6. Experience in a call center environment;

7. Experience working in a policing or legal environment;

8. Experience working with law enforcement data banks and/or police records management systems;

9. Experience working in an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) environment;

10. Experience working with financial information or financial documents such as budget tracking and forecasting, acquisition card reconciliation or petty cash;

11. Experience coordinating administrative activities in the office of a senior manager;

12. Experience in compensation services;

13. Experience scheduling and organizing business travel arrangements;

14. Experience in drafting or editing correspondence or reports;

15. Experience in researching, extracting or analyzing data using an information management system;

16. Experience in project coordination or management;

17. Experience in supervising staff.

18. Experience providing administrative support services*;
*Administrative support is defined as: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system and other related duties.

19. Experience providing client services;

20. Experience using various software including word processing, spreadsheets and email.

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
ALL positions staffed through this process will be BILINGUAL IMPERATIVE. There will not be any unilingual positions in this process. The minimum language level that will be required for your second language is a B level (intermediate) for a minimum profile of BBB/BBB. The C level (Advanced) may be required for some positions (CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC).
If you have already been tested by the Public Service Commission (PSC), have received a level B or higher in Reading, Writing and/or Oral interaction and your results have not expired, please ensure that you have an original copy ready to be sent to us upon request. If you have expired results or have never passed these exams, you will be contacted and scheduled for appointments during the process.

THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES/SKILLS AND PERSONAL SUITABILITY WILL BE ASSESSED THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS VIA EXAMS OR INTERVIEW:

1. Reasoning Skills;
(The Public Service Commission`s General Competency Test: Level 1 (GCT-1) will be administered to assess this element, see the link at the top of this poster. The pass mark of 30/50 has been established for this process; If you have previously written this standardized exam and have obtained at least the required pass mark of 30/50, please ensure that you have an official copy of your result ready for us upon request. 2. Ability to communicate effectively in writing;

3. Ability to communicate effectively orally;

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - The pool of candidates will be used to staff positions requiring an RCMP enhanced reliability, a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Other Conditions of Employment may be required depending on the positions being staffed.

ASSESSMENTS:
The PSC`s Second Language Evaluations (SLEs) will be administered for candidates with expired results, no results or results lower than a B level. Reading and Writing exams will be scheduled first in Fall 2019 and those who succeed with at least a B level in both exams will be scheduled for the Oral Interaction exam.
The PSC`s GCT1-207 test will be administered in Fall 2019.
In addition, please note that interviews may be conducted using a pre-recorded video submitted online by candidates and subsequently assessed by the Board Members. More information will be shared with those invited to an interview.
