The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Applicants should be aware, that a pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established, and may be used to staff similar or identical positions of various tenures, various security level requirements and/or various linguistic requirements within ECCC.

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position such as engineering, biology, geography or an applied science.
Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in collaborating with multiple government agencies towards the joint achievement of established outcomes.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary water resource projects, committees, or groups.
• Experience in leading, participating, influencing, or directing projects in water policy or water resource science/engineering.

KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of federal and provincial programs, agreements, and legislation related to water resources in the Prairie Provinces.
• Knowledge of the principles of hydrology, water quality or water resources planning and management in the Prairie Provinces.
ABILITIES OR SKILLS:
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in particular the preparation of formal minutes.
• Ability to create agendas and information packages for meetings of senior officials.
• Ability to analyse and synthesize information from diverse sources.
• Ability to set priorities and organize work under pressure.

Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
A random, top down and/or cut off score selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

An assignment, secondment, or acting appointment requires approval of your supervisor.
Candidates invited to an interview will be asked to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript. Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
