Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff two (2) indeterminate positions; one (1) position located in Ottawa, Ontario, and one (1) position in Petawawa, Ontario. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established from this process and may be used to staff similar positions across Canada where tenure, language requirements and security requirements may vary.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of a diploma in Biomedical Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

Previous clinical experience working as a Biomedical Electronics Technologist with a variety of common clinical medical devices and test equipment.

Experience in conducting preventive maintenance inspections on various medical equipment.

Experience in using MS Office Suite such as PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

English essential

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of CSA standards or equivalent and medical equipment technical specifications.

Knowledge of medical device regulations in Canada.

Ability to communicate effectively orally

Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Ability to work with a material management database in order to record work history and query asset information.

Ability to perform asset management and life cycle materiel management.

Work experience in dental equipment maintenance and repair.

Experience with changing medical equipment network settings.

Conditions of employment

Willing and able to conduct regional travel to perform preventive maintenance inspections

Willing and able to work overtime on short notice when required
