Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) has an interesting and unique mandate by playing a role in supporting services and programs in communities such as health, education, economic development, housing, community infrastructure and social support. In the context of reconciliation, ISC supports Aboriginal peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) in their efforts to improve social wellbeing and economic prosperity to the benefit of all
Canadians.

Percy E. Moore Hospital serves the immediate area of Hodgson, Manitoba including the residents of Peguis, Fisher River and Kinonjeoshtegon First Nations as well as the Rural Municipality of Fisher. Hodgson is located in the Manitoba Interlake approximately 2 hours north of Winnipeg and is accessible by paved road.

Intent of the process

The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program (APEP), which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

Education:
• Successful completion of secondary school or employer approved alternatives, including an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience in providing contract administration and material management support services, including the purchasing of goods and services.
• Experience in audit and verification of accounts payable documents.
• Experience working with acquisition card and reconciliation of credit card statements.
• Experience using a records information management system.
• Experience in data entry using spreadsheet, word processing, or database software.
• Experience using a financial management system.
• Experience in inventory control and asset management
• Experience Working with First Nations, Inuit or Metis

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualfications:
• Successful completion of post-secondary courses in accounting
• Experience in accounting or providing accounting/bookkeeping services.
