Intent of the process

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the FI-02 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non imperative), and profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC), various security requirements (Reliability Status, Secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

A covering letter in 3,000 words (maximum) "It is your responsibility as a candidate to submit a cover letter, which clearly outlines how you meet each of the screening qualifications (i.e. Education and experience, both essential and asset) as well as a resume which is linked to the information in your cover letter. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group.
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Or a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA, CA, CMA or CGA).

Degree equivalency

Recent* experience** in a minimum of one of the following:
- Forecasting and Budgeting
- Financial Policy
- Accounting Operations
- Financial Systems
- Internal Controls
- Transfer Payments
- Financial Statements and Trial Balance
- External Reporting
- Audit
*Recent is defined as performing the duties within the past four (4) years.
**Experience must have been attained for a period of at least two (2) years.
Candidates should provide evidence for all in which they have experience as these may be used as asset qualifications in making staffing decisions.

PSEE - Test of Reasoning UIT

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Reasoning Unsupervised Internet Test (UIT) as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses reasoning and problem solving ability. You will have 90 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
