- Modify and develop experimental procedures to study the impacts of contrasting cropping systems and land management practices on soil greenhouse gas fluxes.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of experimental trials associated with the research topic.
- Maintain records of field and laboratory activities related to the research topic.
- Perform statistical analyses of data and report on the results.
Under supervision of a research scientist, the student will be responsible for conducting research on the assessment of different cropping systems and land management practices on soil greenhouse fluxes in southern Manitoba. The student will be based at the AAFC Brandon Research and Development Centre for laboratory and field work. The student will be enrolled at Brandon University and meet the requirements for the Master of Science in Environmental and Life Sciences program.

Currently enrolled or will be enrolled in the Master of Science in Environmental and Life Sciences program at Brandon University by the date of appointment.
Experience in field (i.e., outdoor) research.
Experience in laboratory work.
Experience in conducting literature reviews and in summarizing information under different formats such as reports or presentations.
Experience in keeping records associated with experimental trials.
Experience in processing data or conducting statistical analysis from experimental trials using software.
*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
