$22.04 to $27.73 per hour (Salary will be determined by the level of education and experience.)

Duties

During the animal phase, the selected person will have to see the application of experimental treatments, collect samples of feed, milk, blood and muscles. Harvested samples will then be analyzed for amino acid content using stable isotopes and also for usual animal nutrition parameters. Genomic analyzes should be performed on the milk and muscle samples. Following the chemical analyzes, statistics will be produced to allow the writing of a master's thesis.

Work environment

The selected candidate will work in a multidisciplinary research environment. She will be involved in a research project to study the metabolism of arginine in the intestine, liver, mammary gland, and muscles in dairy cows. This person will have to complete a master's degree. Thus, she will have to carry out, under supervision, an animal phase, laboratory analyzes, statistics and complete the writing of a thesis.

Currently enrolled/or willing to enroll in a Master’s program in a recognize post-secondary institution with specialization in: Animal biology or animal science

Degree equivalency

Experience in research with ruminants.
Experience in blood sampling of cattle.

Basic knowledge in animal metabolism.

Teamwork

Ability to conduct experiments with dairy cows.
Ability to work independently.
