Assessment accommodation

Duties

To provide nutrition counseling / intervention to offenders at all federal institutions within the region. Acts as a nutrition subject matter expert on various committees and within the multidisciplinary team and provides training sessions to other health professionals, Food Services staff and offenders. Provides expertise to assist in the resolution of inmate complaints and grievances regarding nutritional services.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

EED1 A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nutrition, dietetics or home economics.
EED2 Successful completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship or Community Nutrition Program or a recognized equivalent.
EED3 Dietitian registration by the provincial registering/licensing body in the province of practice.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EEX1 Experience in providing nutrition services to a variety* of clients.
EEX2 Experience in menu planning and analysis.
EEX3 Experience in the delivery of training in relation to clinical nutrition or healthy eating.

Note:
*Variety of clients is defined as experience working with varied population groups such as senior citizens, pregnant women, Aboriginals, diabetics, etc.

KNOWLEDGE

EK1 Knowledge of Food Services operation management concepts.
EK2 Knowledge of Social Determinants of Health.

ABILITIES

EA1 Ability to perform nutritional assessment and develop nutritional care plan.
EA2 Ability to develop and deliver education sessions.
