Our Application Development Team is growing and is looking for qualified Developers to join us. You will have the opportunity to learn new things as you apply modern design principles to new and existing solutions for the RCMP in BC. Moreover, you will be able to work on many different projects branching across multiple teams within the RCMP.

The Team is located at the RCMP BC Headquarters in Surrey, BC. The office has great amenities (which includes gym facilities, in-house cafeteria, and basketball court), is along a bus route and only a short walk to the King George Skytrain station. It is located by Green Timbers forest and the Surrey Nature Centre which provides excellent trails for walking, jogging, or biking. This role works a 37.5 hour week, Monday through Friday with some flexibility to work variable start times or completing their hours of work over 8 or 9 days instead of 10 in a two week period. This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 4 temporary vacancies.

This selection process may initially be used to staff the position on a temporary basis.

A qualified pool will be established and may be used for future permanent or temporary vacancies.

Phase 1 of this process will be used to staff a temporary position as outlined above. Only candidates who indicate that they are willing and able to accept a temporary position will be considered for Phase 1 if they are referred. In future, management may undertake additional Phases should a permanent position become available.

Education:

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.

• Experience developing MVC web applications such as .NET MVC, Spring, Ruby On Rails, Laravel, etc
• Experience using HTML and CSS
