As a Financial Services Assistant you will make a difference in the lives of Canadians through these activities:

• Processing purchase requisitions for goods and/or services.
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable services.
• Processing petty cash claims.
• Generating financial reports for budget holders.
• Providing administrative and financial support to local Branch supervisors and management.
• Provide travel arranger services to clients consisting of booking travel, entering and processing travel-related expense claims.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory: A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent full-time or part-time basis or on a temporary full-time or part-time basis for the location indicated for this process.

In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

IF YOU HAVE FOREIGN CREDENTIALS, please follow the link below for information on how to obtain a degree equivalency. You must obtain an equivalency, at your own expense, in order to be considered for appointment into the public service.

Degree equivalency

Recent experience providing financial services to *clients such as procurement and/or purchasing;

Recent experience providing financial services to *clients such as accounts payables and/or accounts receivables;

Significant experience in the use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

*Clients are defined as managers, employees, internal/external clientele.
**Recent experience is defined as normally acquired within the last three (3) years.
***Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of two (2) years.

Successful completion of post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Degree equivalency

Experience operating the SAP financial system.

Experience using a Shared Travel Services (STS) system.
