As a successful Project Manager you will be responsible for key duties and initiatives such as;
•exercising technical and financial authority for infrastructure projects ranging in value from $100,000 to $5,000,000
•developing scopes of work and briefing documents for third party design consultants
•reviewing the work of third party design consultants
•producing high level cost estimates
•preparing all the documentation required for contract tending
•preparing and maintaining funding documents and purchase requests
•developing and maintaining project schedules
•providing ongoing communications to management and other project stakeholders regarding project progress, costs and timelines

The Department of National Defence is a department like no other. DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) are together the largest federal government department offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. The initial intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position at Canadian Forces base Comox.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures.

EDUCATION:
E1: Graduation with a Degree or Technology Diploma from a recognized postsecondary
institution in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Technology.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Recent experience working on a project that demonstrates your expertise in the electrical construction/engineering discipline and a general understanding of at least two of the following: Architectural, Civil, Structural or Mechanical engineering.
EX2: Experience with managing budgets as it relates to multi-discipline project management.
EX3: Experience in specification writing and estimating quantities and costs.
EX4: Experience in the preparation of drawings and sketches.
EX5: Experience providing technical advice to a multi-disciplined design, project teams.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- AOC1: Certification as an Applied Science Technologist.
- AOC2: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- AOC3: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience using MS Project.
AEX2: Experience in using NMSEdit.
AEX3: Experience in using the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
AEX4: Experience working with the Department of National Defence.
AEX5: Experience in planning of infrastructure maintenance and repair
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
OR1: Willingness to work overtime, as required.
OR2: Willingness to travel and work at various sites and under various conditions, as required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- CoE2: Valid class “5” driver’s license without restriction issued by the Province of British Columbia.
- CoE3: A current and acceptable driver’s abstract.
- CoE4: Eligibility and willingness to obtain the DND 404 military driver's licence.
- CoE5: Willing and able to travel to remote locations (e.g. DND satellite sites) to perform duties.
